Last night, Tame Impala brought the Deadbeat Tour to Philly’s Xfinity Mobile Arena, with support from Djo, the musical project of actor and musician Joe Keery.
The evening featured two captivating performances that complemented each other perfectly, building from intimate emotion to a full-scale psychedelic experience.

Djo took the stage at 7:15 p.m. and immediately proved why his live performances continue to earn praise. Compared to his recent show at Franklin Music Hall, the energy was just as intense, but it translated effortlessly to the larger arena setting. His stage presence felt completely natural, drawing the audience in with subtle emotionality before erupting into something much more powerful.
His songs are infused with nostalgia and a yearning, capturing a sense of raw humanity that resonates deeply with listeners. What begins as a delicate ember grows into an uncontainable fire, reflecting the emotional intensity of his music. Djo continues to evolve as a performer, and it's exciting to imagine what lies ahead for him.
At 8:45 p.m., Tame Impala took the stage, transforming the arena into a dazzling audiovisual experience. From the opening moments, the show was filled with stunning lights, lasers, and mesmerizing visuals that perfectly translate Kevin Parker’s signature psychedelic sound into a full sensory odyssey.
The performance felt like being carried through space from start to finish. The setlist struck an excellent balance between fan favorites from previous albums and songs from the latest release, Deadbeat, giving longtime fans and newer listeners plenty to enjoy.
The Deadbeat Tour continues with stops in Maryland, Boston, and Nashville before hitting Australia this fall. If this performance is any indication, audiences can expect an unforgettable experience that only Tame Impala can deliver.
