High Fade Slather Philly with Funk Flavored Jams - May 28, 2026

Philly’s Underground Arts welcomed a funk slathered evening with the Edinburgh based band, High Fade. Currently on their US and Canada tour promoting their new album, Twice As Nice, the Scottish three-piece consisting of Harry Valentino (guitar/vocals), Oliver Sentance (bass), and newly inducted Heath Campbell (drums) brought funk-rock shenanigans, fully loaded and potent.

Opening the night was the keytar-wielding Natalie Brooke, hailing from Baltimore, who is joining High Fade for their East Coast dates. The band packed a punch with a solid set of head-bobbing songs that balanced rock, jazz, and funk. They were fully immersed in the jam and grooved along with ease and ripped up the stage, while the audience became nicely warmed for the main act.

High Fade kicked it into high gear from the very first song with speed and power. Valentino’s guitar riffs and gritty gut-tearing vocals fused with the driving drums and the funkiest swampy bass, creating a mean stew of sticky genre bending jams. Letting the pendulum swing between hardcore rock and funk, their musicianship and tightness as a band were blatant. After years of relentless touring and garnering global recognition for their DIY approach as an unsigned band, there is no indication of them stopping, as they continue to sharpen their skills and tear up every stage they play.
